What I worked on
Slot development is unusual in that the math model is fixed and audited before the game is built — so the engineering problem is expressing that model faithfully while making the moment-to-moment presentation feel alive. Anticipation is the lever: the pause before a reel lands, the wheel’s deceleration curve, the timing of an award reveal.
Most of my work was on making those systems modular enough to survive being reused. The anticipation-randomization framework in particular went back into the studio’s shared animation library, so other feature teams could prototype against it instead of rebuilding the behavior per title.
I also worked as feature-lead across the Math, Art, and Audio teams — sprint delivery on those features moved from 70% to 93% on-time over my tenure, mostly through tighter backlog grooming and clearer milestone scoping.
